At the instruction of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb, conducted a working visit and inspection on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, in the wilaya of Tissemsilt, where he launched the “General Plastic Injection (GPI)” project, a production facility for plastic components and accessories for the automotive industry.

This visit is part of the implementation of the President of the Republic’s strategic guidelines aimed at reviving confiscated projects and integrating them into the national economic fabric, thereby enhancing the value of productive assets and transforming them into an effective lever for economic development, wealth creation, and job creation, within a comprehensive vision supporting the country’s industrial sovereignty. The project for the automotive parts and accessories manufacturing plant, located in the municipality of Khemisti in the Sidi Mansour region, represents a high-quality investment designed to meet the domestic market’s needs for plastic accessories for the automotive industry, as part of a strategy to increase domestic content rates.

It is also expected to help reduce the import bill by offering local alternatives, while supporting the industrial value chains linked to this vital sector, encouraging investment in the manufacture of spare parts, and developing national infrastructure and skills through the localization of industrial know-how. Beyond its economic dimension, the project holds significant social importance, as it is expected to open up broad employment opportunities by creating direct and indirect jobs for young people in the region across various fields, including engineers, technicians, and workers.
This initiative reflects the commitment to fulfill the President of the Republic’s pledges to build an integrated national mechanical industry, as part of a strategic direction aimed at establishing a modern and sustainable industrial base.
During his visit, the Prime Minister received detailed explanations regarding the various stages of production and the capabilities of the industrial enterprise. He also visited an exhibition space dedicated to the manufactured products, where he viewed several models of accessories and components produced by the factory.

Mr. Sifi Ghrieb emphasized the importance the President of the Republic attaches to the development of local industry and the promotion of domestic production, through the encouragement of productive investment and support for national companies, thereby contributing to strengthening the competitiveness of the national economy and realizing the state’s strategic vision for building a strong and diversified economy.

The Prime Minister also oversaw the signing of several agreements related to the development of the automotive components and spare parts industry, the strengthening of industrial partnerships, technology transfer, and the increase in domestic content rates.
