Algiers-Minister of Post and Telecommuinications, Sid Ali Zerouki , urgued Algerian digital and service-based companies on Wednesday to pivot toward international markets . Speaking in Algiers , the Minister emphasized that the current maturity of the domestic sector serves as a springboard for regional and global expansion.

ALGIERS- On the sidelines of the 6th edition of the Digital African Summit , Minister of Post and Telecommunications , Sid Ali Zerouki delivered a strategic mandate to Algerian digital enterprises : the domestic market has reached a state of relative saturation , and the text logical frontier is international expansion.

The Market Maturity “Pivot”:
Minister Zerouki noted that the national market is approaching its limits explaining that local firms now possess a deep understanding of their domestic clientele and competitors . this maturity , according to the minister , necessitates a shift toward new markets , leveraging regional economic agreements .
In this context, Zerouki underscored the paramount importance of utilizing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). He specifically pointed toward West African markets as prime targets, urging businesses to maintain a high-profile presence in international forums both within and beyond the continent.
Exporting Algerian Tech Expertise:
“Algerian competencies and institutions have worthily proven their potential, strength, and technological mastery,” the Minister stated. He cited the success of Algerian professionals managing global corporations worldwide as a testament to the country’s human capital. This high-caliber talent, he argued, should serve as a catalyst for national firms to begin exporting their expertise.
Zerouki clarified that the government’s role is to accompany this outward transition. He emphasized that the objective extends beyond immediate financial gains; it is about “nation branding”—building an international presence and a formidable reputation for Algerian technology outside its borders.

Collective Growth and Strategic Integration:
To compete effectively on the global stage, the Minister called for enhanced integration among national digital firms. He proposed the development of “joint offerings” (consortiums) to meet complex international demands. Collective action, he noted, allows for the provision of integrated solutions in high-growth sectors such as Cloud Computing and Customer Experience Services.
Minister Zerouki reaffirmed the sector’s commitment to supporting firms in their expansion journey, praising the Digital African Summit for becoming a premier hub for fostering such partnerships.
The African Continent: A Hub of Growth
Echoing the Minister’s sentiment, Ahmed Hicham Adelssi, CEO of Groupe Algérie Télécom, highlighted the exceptional quality of Algerian human resources. Drawing from his own professional experience abroad, Adelssi praised the rapid achievements of Algerian cadres.
“The horizons for expansion are no longer confined to the domestic market,” Adelssi remarked. “The most significant growth opportunities now lie beyond our borders, particularly within Africa.” He described the continent as the region poised for the “highest economic growth in the coming years,” presenting a strategic window for Algerian firms to capitalize on this momentum.
