Algeria Gate: On the instructions of President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, arrived in Minsk, capital of the friendly Republic of Belarus, on an official visit.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the visit is undertaken in support of the positive momentum characterizing relations between Algeria and Belarus. During his stay, the Minister of State is scheduled to be received by the President of the Republic of Belarus and to hold talks with the Speaker of the National Assembly of Belarus.

Minister Attaf will also meet with his Belarusian counterpart to assess the state of bilateral relations, examine prospects for their further enhancement, and exchange views on international and regional issues of mutual interest to both countries.

Algeria Gate: Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb officially inaugurated a new brake-pad manufacturing plant on Wednesday August 5^th,  2026 in Reghaia, Algiers.

The facility was launched on the direct instructions of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. More than a purely industrial project, it embodies the State’s policy of converting assets recovered from corruption cases into real engines of economic growth.

The new production unit belongs to the Eastern Maintenance Company, a subsidiary of the Industrial Cement Group of Algeria (GICA). It specializes in manufacturing brake pads for both light vehicles and heavy goods vehicles, in full compliance with current technical standards.

The initiative follows the President’s clear guidelines, which place the productive reuse of assets confiscated in corruption cases at the heart of economic policy. Instead of leaving these assets idle, the authorities are determined to bring them back into the national economy so they can generate wealth, create jobs and attract investment.

This approach also strengthens Algeria’s industrial sovereignty by cutting reliance on imports and increasing local content. It gives a second life to infrastructure recovered by the State, placing it firmly at the service of the national economy and industrial growth.

With an estimated annual capacity of 1.5 million brake pads, the factory will help meet part of domestic demand, reduce the country’s import bill for automotive components and support the development of the after-sales sector. It also opens the door to future exports of locally made products.

During his visit, the Prime Minister received a detailed briefing on the plant’s technical capabilities before touring the production lines. He stressed the need to uphold the highest standards of quality and efficiency to ensure the competitiveness of Algerian products.

The ceremony also saw the signing of two industrial cooperation agreements between the Eastern Maintenance Company, Stellantis Algeria and Idenet SARL Algeria. These partnerships aim to expand national subcontracting, strengthen local value chains and raise the profile of Algerian-made products on the market.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by a large ministerial delegation that included the Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and Transport, Said Sayoud; the Minister of Industry, Yahia Bachir; and the Minister of Finance, Abdelkrim Bouzred.

Through this project, launched on the instructions of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the public authorities reaffirm their commitment to transforming assets recovered from corruption cases from frozen holdings into engines of economic growth. By reintegrating them into the national productive fabric, the State seeks to create added value, generate sustainable employment, attract investment and boost domestic production; turning the recovery of misappropriated assets into a practical tool for Algeria’s economic development.

Algeria Gate: Energy cooperation between Algeria and Tunisia has reached a new milestone. Tunisia’s National Electricity and Gas Company (STEG) has officially sent a letter of appreciation to Sonelgaz, praising its crucial support in ensuring electricity supplies during a particularly critical period marked by an exceptional heatwave and a sharp surge in energy demand.

This latest expression of appreciation from STEG also reaffirms Sonelgaz’s position as a leading player in North Africa’s energy sector. By supporting Tunisia during a period of exceptional strain on its electricity network, the Algerian public utility has once again demonstrated Algeria’s ability to act as a reliable partner and a strategic energy provider committed to advancing regional cooperation.
