ALGIERS – Ways to develop joint Algerian-American projects were discussed during a meeting between the President of the Council for Algerian Economic Renewal (CREA), Kamel Moula, and U.S. officials at the “SelectUSA” Investment Summit in Maryland, according to a statement issued by the Council on Thursday.

As part of the summit, which commenced last Sunday with the participation of approximately 5,000 economic actors from 100 countries, Mr. Moula met with the Deputy Director General of the U.S. Department of Commerce, Thomas Bruns, in the presence of the Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Algiers, Marc Shapiro.
The U.S. official expressed satisfaction with the Algerian participation in the summit, highlighting the strong partnership between Algeria and the United States and the promising outlook for their economic relations. Furthermore, he expressed a desire to intensify activities to promote Algeria and showcase its potential to American business leaders.

Mr. Bruns proposed the organization of an annual meeting between the two parties to monitor and evaluate the progress of committed projects, according to the same source.
For his part, Mr. Moula outlined the economic transformations taking place in Algeria, particularly in the industrial sector, which open “broad horizons” for partnership. He noted that Algeria aspires to achieve “high-tech projects and establish partnerships across multiple sectors.”
Sector-Specific Cooperation (Mississippi):
The CREA delegation also met with representatives from several U.S. states, including the team of the Governor of Mississippi. Known for its production capacity in corn, sugarcane, soybean, wheat, and cotton, as well as its energy sector, the meeting focused on opportunities to develop joint projects in these specific fields.
