Algeria Gate: U.S. President Donald Trump threatened on Monday to bomb the Sultanate of Oman if it interfered in what he described as American efforts related to the Strait of Hormuz. This came amid the ongoing war with Iran and the end of the talks deadline without reaching an agreement to end the conflict.
In an interview with Fox News, Trump said the United States would bomb Oman “hard” if it stood in its way, repeating a threat he had previously made last May.
For its part, Iran announced that its talks with the Sultanate of Oman regarding the Strait of Hormuz are still ongoing, despite describing them as complex.
Trump confirmed that his administration has established a direct communication channel with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, but stressed that he is in no hurry to reach an agreement, at a time when tensions linked to one of the world’s most important shipping and energy corridors are escalating.
