Algeria and Uzbekistan Discuss  Trade and Establishing a Joint Business Council

Algeria – The discussion with the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Algeria, Mansurbek Kiliashov, on how to improve the economic and trade relations between both countries was held by Mr. Kamal Rezig, Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, said a statement issued by the ministry today Wednesday.

In addition, the statement indicated that during the meeting held yesterday Tuesday, at the headquarters of the Ministry, the mechanisms for the development of trade relations were reviewed, stressing the need to work more intensively to boost bilateral trade flows and take advantage of the available economic potentials in both countries.

In the same context, the idea of ​​holding a special exhibition for Algerian goods in Uzbekistan was raised in order to promote Algerian goods and open new markets for Algerian economic players.Similarly, the two parties agreed to move towards the establishment of a joint business council made up of economic players from both countries in order to establish direct communication among businessmen and build investment partnerships.

Algeria’s Secretary of State in charge of the National Community Abroad, Sofiane Chaib, has embarked on a working visit to the United States, marked by the official inauguration of Algeria’s new Consulate General in San Francisco.

During his first stop in the American city, Chaib presided over the opening ceremony of the diplomatic facility, in the presence of the Consul General and several representatives of Algerian community organizations active within the consular district.

The establishment of this new consular office reflects Algeria’s commitment to improving services for its citizens abroad. Authorities aim to bring administrative services closer to the diaspora while ensuring more efficient and higher-quality consular assistance. The move also represents another step in expanding Algeria’s global consular network.

On the sidelines of the inauguration, Chaib visited the various departments of the consulate, where he assessed operational conditions and reviewed the range of services provided to Algerian nationals. The consulate’s jurisdiction covers 19 states across the western region of the United States, highlighting its strategic importance for the Algerian community in the area.
