ALGIERS – Moscow has officially expressed its readiness to assist Algiers in achieving its 2035 development goals. This commitment was affirmed by Sergey Cheremin, Minister of the Moscow City Government and Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations.
During his visit to Algiers for the “Moscow Days” and the Algerian-Russian Business Forum, Cheremin highlighted Moscow’s willingness to share expertise in infrastructure and digitalization to support the Algerian capital’s urban planning strategy.

Key Highlights of the Partnership:
Technological Exchange: Moscow aims to share its advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) across sectors including housing, social affairs, education, and public health.
Urban Infrastructure: Leveraging its status as one of the world’s most dynamic cities, Moscow offers expertise in accelerated metro network development and digital transport solutions.
Strategic Gateway: Cheremin described Algeria as a “gateway to Africa,” citing the attractiveness of its market for foreign investment, particularly in rail, port modernization, and urban expansion.
Economic Interest: Large-scale Algerian projects are drawing significant interest from Russian economic operators, particularly within the framework of UN-Habitat initiatives in Africa.
