Spanish media reports have revealed a high-profile judicial investigation that resulted in the arrest of the Spanish Deputy Consul in Algeria. The diplomat is allegedly involved in an illicit network trafficking Schengen visas for Algerians in exchange for payments reaching €25,000 per family.

According to the Spanish newspaper THE OBJECTIVE, the investigation—overseen by the Spanish National Court—led to the arrest of Vicente Moreno Sánchez, the Deputy Consul in Algiers, in Sagunto (Valencia). An Algerian consulate employee, who was also on Spanish soil at the time, was also apprehended.
Sources indicate that the suspects exploited their positions within the diplomatic mission to facilitate visa issuance for financial gain. A portion of the proceeds was reportedly laundered through the acquisition of luxury vehicles in Spain.
