Field Commander “Al-Safana” Defects from RSF, Joining Sudanese Army Forces

Field Commander “Al-Safana” Defects from RSF, Joining Sudanese Army Forces

In a significant development reflecting growing internal fractures, Field Commander Ali Abdallah Rizqallah, widely known as Al-Safana, announced his defection from the Rapid Support Forces RSF militia. He declared his alignment with what he described as the will of the Sudanese people.

Al-Safana is regarded as one of the most prominent field commanders with the RSF having led key battles in Khartoum and El Fasher. His defection, along with his influential field force, represents a substantial moral and military blow to the organization.

This move comes just weeks after Commander Al-Noor Al-Qubba also announced his defection and joined the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF). These consecutive shifts suggest a potential widening wave of desertions within the militia’s ranks, fueled by the prolonged conflict and escalating military and political pressure on the RSF.

Iran Reveals for the First Time Details of Mojtaba Khamenei’s Injury During the War

Iranian officials have revealed new details regarding the health condition of Mojtaba Khamenei, confirming that his residence was bombed on the first day of the war on Iran, last February 28. The strike resulted in the deaths of his wife, Zahra Haddad Adel, and his brother-in-law.

Mazaher Hosseini, Director of Protocol at the Office of the Iranian Supreme Leader, stated that Mojtaba sustained injuries to his knee and back, as well as a minor injury behind his ear caused by the blast wave. Hosseini confirmed that Mojtaba is currently in good health and continues to oversee state affairs, negotiations, and the ongoing war.

These statements come amid US reports highlighting Mojtaba Khamenei’s pivotal role in managing Iran’s strategy during the war, which coincides with his absence from public view since the attacks began.
